...of New England WomenCenter, has been in practice for over thirty years. Susan is a national expert and guest-lecturer on menopause and has extensive background with cardiovascular patients. She has published on the topics of menopause, pacemakers, nurse-managed health centers, and advanced practice nursing. She is a graduate of Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania and the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her graduate nursing degrees are from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Boston College. She is nationally certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and on the scientific advisory board of the American Menopause Foundation. Susan is an avid reader and enjoys sailing, kayaking and singing. She is married and the mother of two adult children.
Jay Reighley, APRN
Jay joined New England WomenCenter July, 2011. She comes with over thirty years of experience as a women’s healthcare nurse practitioner. She is passionate about providing healthcare to women who are motivated in obtaining optimal health. Knowledge in both traditional and complimentary therapies can blend specific modalities to treat individual concerns. Jay has a particular interest in nutrition as it pertains to healing the body and integrates this with spiritual and emotional health to achieve desired results. Her strengths include treating bladder, sexual, breast, and hormonal health issues throughout the life cycle.She completed her nurse practitioner training in Denver at the University of Colorado, graduated from nursing school in Cincinnati, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland. She has training in functional, alternative, and complimentary medicine.
Jay lived abroad for many years and believes this experience sensitized her to multicultural forms of delivering healthcare. She speaks French, is an avid gardener, athlete, traveler, and outdoorsperson. She has two daughters and lives with her husband and dogs in South Freeport.
Wendy DaSilva, Medical Assistant
Shortly after graduating from Portland High School Wendy set out for Nevada where she lived for nine years and owned the End of the Trail restaurant. Living out west afforded her and her family the opportunity to immerse themselves in a completely different lifestyle and experience desert living to its fullest.Upon returning to Maine she enrolled at Andover College and graduated with an Associate degree in Medical Assisting and started her career in health at the Westbrook Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant.
Wendy joined NEWC in the summer of 2009 supporting both Susan Doughty WHNP-BC and Holly Frost APRN. In addition to her commitment to New England WomenCenter, she provides geriatric home care to clients in the greater Portland area.
Wendy resides in Westbrook with her husband, Carlos. She has two daughters, Katie and Amy. Wendy enjoys baking, hiking and swimming.
Cathy Dickenson, RN
A graduate of Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing in Newton, MA, Cathy has worked in Labor and Delivery and Newborn Nursery for many years. She has also worked for 18 years doing home IV Therapy. Cathy has been at NEWC since 1998 and in her spare times enjoys travel, yoga/meditation, family, friends and being a grandmother.
Gail Cinelli, RN
Gail received her RN, BSN degree from Texas Woman's University and Texas Medical Center. She spent 20 years in general hospital nursing and held the positions of Childbirth Educator in an OB/GYN office and Hemophilia Nurse Coordinator. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Center for Greiving Children. Her interests include tai-chi, qigong and yoga and has been with the NEWC family for one year.
Cynthia Cloutier, Practice Manager
Cynthia started her business career as a young woman creating and selling several businesses. With her late husband she formed the Waterville Music Theatre, a professional summer stock company where she served as Artistic Director and Business Manager. While in Waterville, she headed the accounts receivable department of a multi-lawyer firm and after moving to Texas, she worked for American Airlines where she held the position of assistant to the vice-president of Training & Consulting. Cynthia has been Practice Manager at NEWC since 2004. Weekends find her spending time with two very special grandsons.
Myra Robinson, Medical Secretary
Myra has been a medical secretary for over a decade and keeps the front office at NEWC running smoothly. Prior to working in the medical field, she worked as a graphic artist at a sign company and receptionist at a local radio station. Myra has many artistic interests such as painting and drawing and also enjoys singing, songwriting, and drumming as part of her band "BluezberryJam". She and her husband Charlie live in Scarborough and have a son, daughter and grandson. Myra's philosophy is "Stay positive, live in the Now, cultivate gratitude, pray for patience . . . and repeat!"
Shirley Doughty, Chief Volunteer
Having held secretarial and Administrative Assistant positions for over 50 years, Shirley retired and decided to come to "work" volunteering at NEWC founded by her daughter-in-law, Susan. Married for 60 years to the Reverend William Doughty, they have three children and four grandchildren. Shirley believes that "working with the wonderful staff at NEWC and meeting the great patients are the things that keep me "young."
Marie Harrison, Reception
Marie has held the position of secretary in the railroad and insurance industries and spent over 15 years as a medical transcriptionist for several health organizations in the greater Portland area. Marie joined NEWC a year ago and finds herself busy with receptionist and varied administrative duties. When not at the office, Marie creates beautiful jewelry and knits articles she shares with a delighted staff!
